It's still there in Cubase 10 I saw on Steinberg forum the other day. Ghost tracks that doesn't do anything, I didn't even have a reliable track template system. Track archive problems with multiout VST's - just scrambled order and f-u-c-k up with error dialogs and stuff. So had to do manually the color settings again. That didn't work either to import into the new settings. So to get all color settings and stuff over to new preferences i save to disk. And it wouldn't stick as a setting from session to session until I trashed preferences. I had same settings already before but just trying everything for three weeks until I gave up. Trying to workaround this I looked at settings for Steinberg Pro Audio Scheme - and it didn't work either stopping video engine from starting. Even Cubase Elements 7 and 8 had no problem - Cubase pro only. So recording over that time slot - transport stops and shown a dialog about dropouts - yeah, you restarted audio engine so it became dropouts. Every hour on the second of uptime for windows - audio engine restarts - due to something that does not create anything in Sonar, Reaper or StudioOne. Personally I don't need thumbnails on a track - just navigate by named markers.įor me Cubase Pro 9.5 was a bugfest, and Steinberg showed no interest in fixing it or even respond to support tickets. In StudioOne I got 6% cpu and I don't even notice I run video too - that is good work. In Cubase using a separate VST(not this tupid video engine) for video like I went down to 16% so that was the way I went by.

Running the same project in Cubase I got 36% cpu with the new video engine - just normal 1080p H264. Cubase is a resource hog when it comes to video.
